In recognition of Veterans Day, Glen Cove students honored and celebrated local veterans with events across the district.

On Monday, Nov. 11, Deasy, Gribbin, Connolly and Landing elementary school students attended a special ceremony and luncheon at The Regency at Glen Cove to thank U.S. military veterans for their service to the United States. Michael Telese, student council president at Connolly Elementary School, spoke to the veterans and recognized them for their selflessness and dedication. The elementary school students then presented the veterans with thank you notes.

Gribbin Elementary, Robert M. Finley Middle School and Glen Cove High School students were visited by the Nassau County Vietnam War Veterans Association and local Glen Cove veterans prior to Veterans Day. Students received a full class period presentation from the veterans who taught them about their experiences, the various jobs and duties in the United States military and the importance of Veterans Day. Following, students asked questions and thanked the veterans for their service.
